What is Coffeeshop Coaching? (A mid-day Event in English)

Before COVID-19, Coffee Shop Cafes became a mainstream cultural trend for tons of social gatherings from business meetings, dates, or light-hearted conversations with friends and acquaintances chatting over delicious espressos,  lattes, cappuccinos, and diverse teas. A perfect match where coaches can rent a space to talk with a client or group for the price of a coffee. It can work again on the other side of this pandemic; until then, online Coffeeshop Coaching is gaining traction in the virtual world.

This ICF Berlin Chapter Meeting expands the possibilities of how coffeeshop coaching facilitates learning and results, uses diversity for discovery and development, awakens curiosity, insight, commitment, and action through powerful questioning. Experience a live demonstration and takeaway an easily implemented toolkit, including recommendations concerning ethics and core competencies for Coffeeshop Coaching.

Get the most value from Coffeeshop Coaching as the Coach or the Coachee.

“When complete strangers sit around a table or in a virtual meeting space and share topics like decision-making, leadership, self-compassion, relationships, trust, values, and integrity, their openness helps them in a profound relational way,” says Melody. She also says, “A group brings more perspectives to the table, then adding the thinking processes from different backgrounds, cultures, and languages looking at a similar challenge only magnifies the number of perspectives, possibilities, next steps, and solutions. Life is change! When surrounded by diverse people, change can become easier if you can dare to surrender to ambiguity. It’s an interesting paradox.”

Speaker: Melody Taylor-Fliege, ACC, CPCC

Melody Taylor-Fliege, ACC, CPCC Associate Certified Coach, ICF Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, CTI

Living a life with many facets, Melody takes a strong stand for self-empowerment and can foster this attitude in others. The experience of growing up in a family with 15 siblings from the western USA combined with US-military, entrepreneurial, managing a patchwork family with 6 daughters and 12 grandchildren from both sides of the Atlantic. That, combined with traveling to well over 60 countries also living in the USA, Italy, China, and Germany, provides her with tolerance, open-mindedness, and cultural insight. When she decided to volunteer her time at a coffeeshop in Beijing, China coaching small groups and individuals, her Coffeeshop Coaching was launched.
