Why does research matter?

In this session Prof Passmore will explore the importance of research as the basis for evidence-based practice. He will talk about the development of coaching research, and the phases of development over the past thirty years , as well as trends for the future. The emergency of research through case studies, followed by as move through qualitative and quantitative studies towards seeking exceptions and the risks of coaching. He will connect the value of research to developing the Coaching Mindset (Competency 2), with the aim of engaging in on going learning and development‘ and offer insights into how practitioners can continue to engage with new and emerging research.

 

Speaker: Prof Dr Jonathan Passmore

Jonathan Passmore is a psychologist, accredited coach and supervisor. He holds five degrees and two professorship from Henley Business School, UK and University of Évora, Portugal. He has published widely with over 100 scientific papers and book chapter, over 30 books (including Becoming a Coach: The Essential ICF Guide, The Coaches Handbook, Excellence in Coaching, Appreciative Inquiry for Change Management, Mindfulness at Work, and Top Business Psychology Models). He listed in the Thinkers 50 Marshall Goldsmith Top 8 Global Coaches and Global Gurus Top 30 Thought Leaders.
